Designathon is a 24-hour medtech-themed hackathon hosted by Dream Team Engineering at UF. Teams will work on either the Software or Design problem and present their solution to the judging team after the hacking period ends.
Schedule:
10/3 -
- 11:15 AM: Check-in Starts
- 12 PM: Hacking Begins
- 6 PM: Dinner is served
- 8 PM: Fun break!
10/4 -
- 8 AM: Breakfast
- 12 PM: All Competitions End
- 12-12:15 PM: Teams set up for demos
- 12:15-2:15 PM: Teams demo projects for judges
- 2:30-3:00 PM: Closing ceremony and winners are announced!
Requirements
What to Build

Design Prompt: Design a product or system that helps athletes reduce injury risk during training or competition. The solution should address a challenge such as technique, equipment fit, or physical strain and be practical for everyday use.
- Software Prompt: Develop a technology-based solution that addresses a health-related challenge in sports, physical activity, or athletic participation.
What to Submit
- Design
- Your 3D model/solution (physical or virtual, can use any site/program you want as long as you send a link and have annotations on the model)
- Devpost submission with all team members attached and a 1-4 page writeup on the project's target market, problem it solves, technology used, how to open it, etc.
- Software
- The link to your GitHub repo
- Devpost submission with all team members attached and a 1-4 page writeup on the project's target market, problem it solves, technology used, how to open it, etc.
- Add all of your team members to your submission.
- Indicate which problem you tackled with a "Design" or "Software" heading at the top of the Project Story text box.
- The only required parts of the submission are the link to your project, project write-up/story, and any visual aids used for the final presentation. All of these items should be submitted under Project Details. Visual aids (uploaded as a file) and project links should also be included under the Additional Info tab.
- You do not need to submit a video demo.
